The Spirograph actions a continuous circle line and although a device to make perfect patterns, slips of pen, uneven ink flow belie this. These imperfect circles are overlaid onto a painted uneven surface with a photograph image of a place often revisited by the artist. An attempt has been made to secure in memory a time and place but in real life this is impossible as life and circumstance march on regardless.
